While you can purchase NFA items as an individual, many Idaho residents choose to use an NFA gun trust for added benefits:

Shared Possession

Multiple trustees can legally possess and use NFA items without the owner present.

Simplified Inheritance

NFA items pass to beneficiaries outside of probate, avoiding complex transfer processes.

Privacy

Trusts are not public record in Idaho, keeping your NFA ownership private.

Flexibility

Add or remove trustees at any time as your situation changes.

Do you still need a trust after the tax change? Yes! The $0 tax stamp only eliminated the fee—all other benefits of trusts remain intact.
