Identifying Responsible Persons
Who Needs Fingerprints?
In an NGT trust, responsible persons typically include:
- Settlor/Grantor: Person who created the trust (you)
- Trustees: Anyone who can manage trust property
- Beneficiaries: Only if they have current possession rights
NGT Trust Structure
Most NGT trusts are structured as:
- Single-person trust: Just you as settlor/trustee
- Co-trustee trust: You + spouse or partner
- Multi-trustee: Multiple family members/friends
Minimizing Fingerprint Requirements
To reduce the number of fingerprints per application:
- Keep responsible persons to minimum needed
- Add people as beneficiaries without possession rights

Common NGT Questions
Can I use NGT trust in any state?
NGT trusts work nationwide, but NFA item legality varies by state. Check your state laws before purchasing NFA items.
How many suppressors can I own with one NGT trust?
No limit. One trust can hold unlimited NFA items. Each item requires its own Form 4 and $200 tax, but all use the same trust and same fingerprints.
Do I need new fingerprints for each item?
No. Your EFT file can be reused for every application. Get fingerprinted once, convert once, use many times.
